World's Largest Shoe House in Hallam

Get a few extra "kicks" at the World's Largest Shoe House in Hallam, one of the restoration sites for Hampton® Hotels' "Save a Landmark" Program. At over 25 feet tall and 48 feet long, this giant boot was built as a marketing gimmick in the late '40s for Mahlon N. Haines, an eccentric shoe manufacturer. Today, you can explore the boot's five stories, retreat to the sole for homemade ice-cream, or visit the museum dedicated to "The Shoe Wizard." Hampton® Hotels donated almost $20,000 and numerous volunteers to repair the stained glass windows and paint the boot from heel to toe. Click here for all the details.
